I have 20 years’ experience from professional service firms, private equity, venture capital and the finance industry. The last years I have also assisted companies as a board professional (non-executive director) or as an independent strategic advisor.

 

As an executive coach, I am an affiliate member of the Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital (a Harvard Medical School affiliate) and a member of the International Coach Federation. My main strength as an executive coach is the combination of my academic skills as a researcher in coaching psychology and my extensive personal experience from the corporate world - which means I actually understand the application of psychology to business, leadership and the challenges of C-suite roles. I am at my best when coaching senior executives, persons transitioning into new executive positions and high potential employees.

My coaching is grounded in a solution focused, cognitive-behavioral approach. I continuously strive to be an informed and reflective practitioner and I use evidence-based theories and practices in my work. I do not adhere to any specific "coaching model", but apply a number of different evidence-based psychological tools, methods and theories depending on the coaching context. My coaching style is highly collaborative and goal-orientated. Depending on the context, I regularly apply theories of change, adult developmental theories, self-determination theory and organisational psychology to assist my coachees to attain their goals. I also use techniques from positive psychology, sports psychology and leadership theories to understand how the coachee is affected by, and affects, the complex adaptive systems of which the coachee is a part.
